Merry Christmas by President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Friend,

It looks a lot like Christmas at Faith. The Christmas tree in the student lounge has been up for a couple of weeks. Beside the tree is a beautiful manger scene. Christmas carols have been sung in our chapel services. A Christmas banquet was held on Saturday evening, December 13. Students and staff will leave for Christmas break on December 20th.

O Come All Ye Faithful Joyful and triumphant, O come ye, O come ye to
Bethlehem. Come and behold Him, Born the King of Angels; O come, let us adore
Him, Christ the Lord.

(Unknown, O Come All Ye Faithful)

We wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy and Blessed 2014

We will be away during the Christmas break. This e-mail will resume in January 2014.
Blessings,

Hands-On Ministry - A letter from President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Friends,
We are so thankful for churches that give our students opportunity to do hands-on ministry. They are helping us to mentor students for their future. Following are some students ministering at different churches.

Mr. Tim Heffler of Brunswick, Maryland, is the youth pastor at Mars Hill Full Gospel Church. He did an internship this past summer with Rev. Wesley Faloon, and now travels up each weekend to work with the youth.

Mr. Jonathan Randall is the worship leader at Patten Pentecostal Church, working under his father, Rev. Frank Randall. He travels every weekend to Patten. Jon also leads worship in a Bangor Church during the week when he is not too busy with studies.

Three students go to minister at Bradley Baptist Church each Sunday morning. Miss Kate Hinkley of Hollis, New Hampshire, helps the church with sound and media ministry, Mr. Robert Daniel of Bangor, Maine, plays the bass guitar, and Mr. Brent Benzanson of Lockeport, NS, Canada plays the drums.

Both students and churches are blessed in these endeavors.

Alumni on Crusades by President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Freinds,
I had a great time on the Fall Crusade, traveling with the Faith Trio. Our travels took us to - Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland, and New York. We thank the Lord for keeping us safe over the many miles. We also thank Him for the lives that were touched through the Word and song.

Whenever I am out traveling, I look forward to having Faith alumni attend our services. I saw several on this trip. Mrs. Kimberly (Stotler) Smith graduated in 1981.  She drove 45 minutes to attend one of our services. She had heard that I had two alumni kids with me.  She had been roommates with both of their mothers. Ashley Randall of Patten, Maine, is the daughter of Rev. Frank (91) and Tammy (Deroiser) (89) Randall. Paige Dumond of Gulf Shores, Alabama, is the daughter of Rev. Bruce (92M) and Heather (Yeaton) (91M) Dumond. The other member of the trio is Andrew McLaughlin of Perham, Maine.

Founder's Day by President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Faith.

On Friday, October 11, we will celebrate Founder's Day at Faith. Born in 1925, our founder, Dr. Russell K. Pier, will celebrate his 88th birthday on that day.  Faith School of Theology was founded in 1959. We honor him for his service to Faith. Presently residing in Groveland, Florida, with his wife, Joan, he still preaches and teaches.

We are having a wonderful semester at Faith. The Holy Spirit is moving in our classes and chapels.  Students can be found in the prayer rooms most any time of the day or night. An old song, said that Prayer is the key to Heaven and Faith unlocks the Door. We are seeing doors opened in student's lives and ministries.

Blessings,

(Dr.) Jeffrey A. Bell

Man with a Van following God's Plan from President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Faith.

We have often said that students are the reason that Faith School of Theology exists. We are also very thankful for our STAFF. The passion of our staff is to Mentor the Students for Ministry. God has blessed us with a staff that is both willing to pray, and to sacrifice. They work for a minimum wage, and give in so many other ways. May I tell you a true story?

Last winter we took our school van to be inspected. We used the van to pick up groceries and supplies each week. When the inspector looked at it - he said, NO, sorry, it is too rusty to pass inspection. When we could not get it inspected, our buyer, said he would use his own vehicle to do the shopping each week. He did for several months, and we have been praying that God would supply us with a van. This week another staff member came and said, "My wife and I were going to sell our van, but God spoke to our hearts to give it to the school." Thank you, Lord, for answering our prayer. May God bless these staff members for their sacrifices for the kingdom of God.

Blessings,

(Dr.) Jeffrey A. Bell

They're Here!! by President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Faith.

We are so excited!  They are here! Our freshmen arrived on Monday, August 20th. They came from as far away as the country of Korea and as near as the town of Charleston. They unpacked and went through an orientation, preparing them for their tenure at Faith. Our sophomores, juniors, and seniors will arrive on Thursday the 29th.

We will have our first Friday night service on August 30th. We need to announce that we will not be streaming services this year. However, they will be recorded and you can download them to your computer.

Please keep us in your prayers. Our greatest desire at Faith is to see God move among our students and staff in a powerful way this year.

Eleven, Ten, Nine....From the President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Faith.

Our staff will arrive on Monday, August 19th. You might hear the following conversations at that time. Two more pages and I will complete that project. Can you help me with this? Oh, we have some furniture to move. We need to finish cleaning the kitchen. We need to take that to the attic.

Eleven, ten, nine - the countdown is on. Our freshmen will arrive onMonday, August 26th. Upper classmen will come on Thursday the 29th. We are making every moment count as we finish up maintenance jobs, office projects, and cleaning. We want to be ready for the students when they arrive.

Just as we are getting ready in the natural for the students' return, we want to be ready spiritually as well. We have prayed that the Holy Spirit will move in a great way as we minister to the students in the classes, chapels, and in everyday life.

We believe the countdown is also taking place for Jesus' return. What do you have to finish before He comes?

Blessings,

(Dr.) Jeffrey A. Bell

Honoring My Father: Rev. Clifford A. Bell - by President Dr. Jeffrey Bell

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Faith.

This week I wish to honor my Dad, Rev. Clifford A. Bell (September 2, 1929 -  July 28, 2013). He was widely known as Mike. Dad became a Christian at age 26. He married my Mother, Arlene, and three children were born into their home - Vicki, Derek and I. Dad was very faithful to support the churches that he and Mom attended.

He was a graduate of Husson College. He held one of the few honorary diplomas from Faith School of Theology. Over the years he was a bookkeeper for several businesses. Dad felt a call to pastoral ministry and pastored churches in Allagash, Stetson, Bangor, and Sherman Mills, Maine. He also worked at Faith in his later years.

If I could describe my Dad in one word, it would be "faithful". He was faithful to God, his family, and the church. He passed away peacefully with his family around him. He will be missed by many friends, and especially by his family - Vicki and Scott Wilson and their family, Derek and Leslie Bell and their family, and my wife, Faith and I.

Blessings,

(Dr.) Jeffrey A. Bell

Office to Office from President Dr. Jeffrey Bell

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Faith.

Sometimes, people have referred to Faith as Faith School of "Moveology"! This summer has proven that to be true. A few staff have moved into different housing. Also, several offices have been moved. We now have more offices on the basement floor of the Institute. These offices will be occupied by:

Director of Outside Ministry, Professor, and Dean of Men - Rev. Billy Sudduth
Director of Student Life and Professor - Dr. Michael L. Richard
Director of Services and Maintenance and Professor - Rev. Glenn D. Gromel
Dean of Women, Kitchen Manager, and Professor - Rev. Bethany Gromel

Dr. Gail Januskiewicz - Director of Academics and Professor has moved into the former Staff Lounge on the first floor. The Staff Lounge has moved into her former office.

We believe the relocation of these offices will better serve our students and the public.

Blessings,

(Dr.) Jeffrey A. Bell

Financial Needs and Graduation- A Letter From President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Friends,

This past week we sent a letter to our Alumni requesting them to pray for, and help us with some urgent financial needs. Would you also pray for these needs? A great burden would be lifted if we could be debt free in just a few weeks. It would help us to do all that we have purposed to do this summer, and prepare us for a great fall semester.

This is our last week of classes. Monday will start a week of closing activities. Rev. Ted Shuttlesworth Jr. will be the special speaker at our convention. Graduation will be held on Saturday, May 4th. It would be our pleasure to have you attend the convention and graduation. For more information, see our website: www.faithschool.org

Now Offering Degrees!- A Letter From President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Friends,

Rejoice with us! On April 15, 2013, I was in Atlanta, Georgia, at the convention of the IABCS. We had previously applied with them for a religious accreditation for our school. On that day they granted us membership status. Membership status recognizes us as an accredited school with them. We will begin our four-year program this fall. For more details you may visit our website: www.faithschool.org

This accreditation is a religious accreditation, and not a government accreditation. Therefore, students are not eligible for loans or Pell Grants. We are, however, continuing to strive to keep our costs as low as possible for the student.

We believe that Faith is looking at a bright future, and again we ask you to rejoice with us.

Blessings,

(Dr.) Jeffrey A. Bell

Crusades and Campus Days- A Letter from President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Friends,

Our students have returned from Spring Crusade. They brought back many good reports of what the Lord has done. We have heard of at least fourteen salvations, four healings, and two baptisms in the Holy Spirit. Rev. and Mrs. Andy DeRier took a singing duet to Canada for the Crusade. Dr. Gail Januskiewicz and the Drama Team went as far as Kentucky. My trio and I traveled from Massachusetts to North Carolina (and points in between) singing and preaching the Gospel. We are grateful for all the churches that host our students during the Crusades, and give them additional mentoring for ministry.

Please keep us in your prayers as Campus Days takes places from April 4 - 6. We are expecting many guests, both young and older, as they come to check out and experience our school. We trust that many of them will decide to pursue their Christian education at Faith.

Blessings,

(Dr.) Jeffrey A. Bell

Happenings in Ghana- A Letter from President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Friends,

Last week I was in Ghana where the temperature was 90 degrees. This week I am in Charleston with lots of snow and rain.

It was necessary for me to go to Ghana on school business. I am glad to report that all is going well there. Our staff is in good spirits. All are planning to stay for another year.

We were excited to see progress on the aquaculture part of the school. A pond has been dug and will be stocked with talaphia fish. This will eventually help with the economy of the school.

We have 33 students in Sogakope and have outgrown our rented facilities. Pictured is a building that may be available to us. Please pray that the owner will be willing to sell and that finances will be there for the purchase of the same. This building would give us potential for growth.

In Charleston we are preparing for Spring Crusade, March 8 - 18. Student teams will travel to various churches where pastors will further Mentor them For Ministry. Please keep the Crusade endeavor in your prayers.

Prayers and Blessings- A Letter From President Dr. Jeffrey A Bell

Dear Friends,

The Board of Directors of Faith School of Theology will meet on Monday, February 11th, 2013. We will be making some major decisions at that time, and desire your prayers.

In December and January we had some major snowstorms in Maine. Our plow truck developed mechanical problems, and we had no reverse gear. Needless to say, it was not of much use, and seemingly could not be repaired. We praise God that we were able to find and purchase another truck and it is working well for us.

Students will leave for break on February 15th. I will be in Ghana from the 17th to the 26th to conduct business for our Ghanaian campus. Please pray that all will work in our favor.

God bless you.

Blessings,

Tour the Campus!- A Letter from President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Friends,

I am presently at our campus in Sogakope, Ghana, Africa, where I am enjoying the fellowship of the staff and students. This is their first week of the new semester. I will return to the Charleston campus on January 21st.

In the last two years there have been some changes in the physical appearance of our Charleston, Maine, campus. If you will go to our website (link on this page) you will be able to take a virtual tour of the campus, and see some of those changes. We trust you will rejoice with us when you see how the Lord has blessed us.

News From the Schools- A letter From President Dr. Jeffrey A. Bell

Dear Danielle,

Proverbs 11:30 - The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.  We were so excited to hear how our Ghanaian students put this verse into action.

On December 30 a group of students decided to practice what they had learned in Personal Evangelism class. They went to a nearby village and performed a drama. After a few hours of witnessing they had led 100 souls to Jesus! May they keep practicing!

I will be flying to Ghana today to spend a few days with our staff and students, as they open a new semester.

On January 4th we welcomed new students to the Charleston campus.  Among the new students are a young man from Brazil and two ladies from India. Rev. Sterling Lawrence of Smyrna Mills, Maine, was our special speaker! There was a wonderful anointing of the Holy Spirit in each service, and life-changing commitments were made at the altars.

Please keep our schools in your prayers.

Blessings,
